Newcastle United supports Rainbow Laces campaign

Newcastle United is backing the Premier League and Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign at this weekend's game, with the LGBTQ+ inclusion initiative celebrating its ten year anniversary.

All Premier League clubs will unite over the next two rounds of fixtures to demonstrate their ongoing support for the charity and all-year round equality and inclusion work which sees football use platforms to encourage discussion and demonstrate allyship.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Rainbow Laces, with the theme of 'Let's Lace Up to Keep It Up'. This looks at how sport has become more inclusive over the last decade, while also highlighting the need for ongoing work to ensure sport is a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The Magpies' game against Manchester United will see the captains take to the field in specially designed rainbow armbands, whilst the ball plinth, handshake board and pitchside LEDs will provide important messages of support, and the club's United As One equality, diversity and inclusion umbrella will continue to have a strong presence.

Newcastle United continues to work with all of its supporters' groups from diverse backgrounds, including United With Pride, through a number of engagement events and initiatives with more information at nufc.co.uk.

If anyone witnesses any discriminatory behaviour whilst attending a match, please report this immediately where possible by contacting the nearest steward.

Alternatively, you can contact the confidential text service on 60070, with the word 'HELP' giving your location (seat, row, block, stand) and a brief description of the incident.
