Newcastle United Foundation announces Building Foundations Awards Dinner 2022

Newcastle United Foundation is thrilled to host the charity's annual awards dinner at St. James' Park on Tuesday, 27th September 2022, principally sponsored by Newcastle Building Society.

The Building Foundations dinner โ€“ an exclusive black-tie event โ€“ will celebrate the impact of the Foundation in the region and the diverse community it serves, with the support of current and former Newcastle United players and extra special guests.

The occasion follows an historic year for the Foundation as the charity officially opened its new, state-of-the-art community hub, NUCASTLE, powered by Newcastle Building Society.

Following years of dedicated fundraising, NUCASTLE opened its doors in March 2022 with more than 3,000 people already benefitting from activities at the centre designed to engage communities in sport, develop skills, achieve qualifications, build confidence and progress into further training or employment.

Marking the achievements of children, young people, families, and adults united by the Foundation, the ceremony will also induct two former Newcastle United players into the Hall of Fame, with guests enjoying an exclusive auction, luxurious meal and fantastic entertainment.

Steve Beharall, Head of Newcastle United Foundation, said: "We are in a truly remarkable chapter in the Foundation's 14 years of supporting communities across the North East.

"This year, we opened our fantastic new facility, NUCASTLE, near St. James' Park and revealed a new logo to lead our charity forwards. We've launched NU Futures โ€“ our transformative educational initiative for the region's young people, alongside youth wellbeing and specialist disability football sessions hosted at NUCASTLE."

He added: "I am incredibly proud of the continued determination and generosity of our supporters who are helping us change and improve lives through our vision of a community united by passion, pride and potential.

"Our annual awards reflect on everything our participants, staff and volunteers have strived to achieve together and this event is an opportunity to honour and celebrate unsung heroes and community members who are making positive changes in their lives and in the lives of others when they need it most.

"We look forward to hosting this special event made possible by our generous corporate supporters, funders and sponsors of our annual awards โ€“ Newcastle Building Society, Bidfood, Molson Coors, Liontrust and Robertson."

Bespoke table packages are now available, offering a range of exclusive opportunities and experiences to reward colleagues, entertain clients, and to network with key businesses while raising money for charity.

Newcastle Building Society โ€“ key supporters of Newcastle United Foundation โ€“ are principal sponsors of the Building Foundations Awards for 2022.

Andrew Haigh, Chief Executive Officer at Newcastle Building Society, said: "This is a momentous year, marking the launch of NUCASTLE, powered by Newcastle Building Society โ€“ Newcastle United Foundationโ€™s new, state-of-the-art community hub.

"The facility is a powerful foundation from which to build opportunity and achievement through an increasing number of high impact community programmes for young people throughout our region.

"Newcastle United Foundation's annual awards dinner is an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate how young people on Foundation programmes have begun to realise their potential over the course of the year and we're proud to support this as a principal sponsor."
