New kick-off time and venue for young Magpies' season opener

Newcastle United Under-21s' opening Premier League 2 fixture, away at West Bromwich Albion, has a new kick-off time and venue.

United's second-string were due to begin their Division Two campaign against their Baggies counterparts at Keys Park, with a 7pm kick-off (BST) on Monday, 8th August.

However, the fixture has been brought forward two hours, with kick-off now set at 5pm and will be held at Albion's Palm Training Ground on the original date.

Elliott Dickman's side finished in eighth place of Division Two last term, narrowly missing out on the play-off spots by a single point.

Newcastle's youngsters last went head-to-head with West Brom in March 2022, recovering from a two-goal deficit at half-time to stage a dramatic 4-3 victory at St. James' Park.
