Match officials revealed for FA Cup tie

Anthony Taylor will be the referee for Newcastle United's Emirates FA Cup fifth round tie at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night (kick-off 8pm GMT).

The Magpies travel to the Hawthorns to face the Championship leaders and will be aiming to reach the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time since 2006.

The Manchester-born official is yet to take charge of a game involving the Magpies this term, with his last coming in April during Newcastle's 3-1 win against Southampton at St. James' Park. Taylor booked no United players that day.

The 41-year-old, who was the referee for the 2017 FA Cup final, was the man in the middle for five of United's Premier League fixtures during their 2018/19 campaign, overseeing Newcastle's away wins at Burnley and Huddersfield Town along with defeats on the road against Manchester United and Arsenal.

Taylor, who was promoted to the Select Group of Referees in 2010, has refereed 33 games so far this season across the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, European Championship Qualifiers and FA Cup, and has shown 144 yellow cards along with six reds in total.

On Tuesday, Taylor will be assisted by Neil Davies & Mark Scholes, while Robert Jones will be the fourth official.
