Match officials for Cherries visit confirmed

Michael Salisbury will referee Newcastle United's Premier League against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday 17th February
Newcastle United vs Bournemouth
St. James' Park
Kick-off 3pm GMT

It will be the first time Salisbury has overseen a game involving the Magpies in 2023/24 so far, with his last appointment involving Eddie Howe's side coming in their 2-1 FA Cup third round defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in January 2023.

Salisbury was also in the middle of United's goalless draw at home to Crystal Palace in September 2022, while this term he has officiated across the top flight, FA Cup and Carabao Cup - but has yet to keep his cards pocketed in a game this season.

The Lancashire official spent five years as a referee in the EFL between 2016 and 2021 before his promotion to the Premier League in 2022. Prior to 2016, he had been promoted from the National League after working his way up the pyramid.

Refereeing runs in the Salisbury family - Michael's father, Graham, is an experienced former Football League official.
