Match officials confirmed for midweek Hammers trip

Craig Pawson will referee Newcastle United's Premier League game at West Ham United on Wednesday night.

London Stadium
Kick-off 8pm BST

Sheffield-born Pawson is no stranger to the Magpies, having already taken charge of three games involving Newcastle so far this term - the 1-1 home draw with Bournemouth and the goalless stalemates at both Manchester United and Crystal Palace. He has also been fourth official for United matches on a handful of occasions.

Last term, Pawson oversaw four Newcastle fixtures, with Eddie Howe's side only beaten once in that time - at Everton in March 2022. United won two of the other three games, against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, and also drew 1-1 with Manchester United at St. James' Park.

The 44-year-old was an EFL referee for five years from 2008, having previously served as an assistant following his promotion to the professional ranks of the football pyramid. He has been a top flight official for a decade now, and has also been a FIFA-listed official since 2015.
