Magpies youngster earns England call-up

Newcastle youngster Adam Wilson has been named in the England under-18 squad for the first time.

The teenager has earned his first international call-up at any level for three games to be played this month. The 20-man squad is largely made up of players from last year's FIFA Under-17 World Cup group, but Wilson's form for Newcastle has seen him included.

Although listed in the squad as a defender, the former Newcastle City Juniors player usually plays for the Magpies as a left-winger, although he can operate as a full-back.

England face Qatar at St. George's Park on Wednesday, 21st March before taking on Argentina two days later. 

And their final game comes against Belarus on Monday, 26th March. All England under-18s games are played behind closed doors.

The full England under-18s squad is: Curtis Anderson (Manchester City), Josef Bursik (Stoke City), William Crellin (Fleetwood Town), Timothy Eyoma (Tottenham Hotspur), Lewis Gibson (Everton), Marc Guehi (Chelsea), Joel Latibeaudiere (Manchester City), Brooklyn Lyons-Foster (Tottenham Hotspur), Steven Sessegnon (Fulham), Adam Wilson (Newcastle United)Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), George McEachran (Chelsea), Felix Nmecha (Manchester City), Tashan Oakley-Boothe (Tottenham Hotspur), Oliver Skipp (Tottenham Hotspur), Callum Wright (Leicester City), Morgan Gibbs-White (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea), Danny Loader (Reading), Ian Poveda-Ocampo (Manchester City).
