Magpies visit the South Coast

Both Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion are enjoying their sixth consecutive season in the top flight after coming up from the Championship together in 2017 as champions and runners-up respectively.

It was a thrilling title race back then and many will remember the clash between the pair on the south coast in February of that season as a pivotal match in the race for the trophy.

Hosts Brighton led 1-0 and were on the verge of opening a four-point lead at the head of affairs before goals in the last ten minutes from Mohamed Diamé and Ayoze Pérez swung the match in Newcastle's favour.

It was the Magpies who eventually went up as champions come the end of the season, keeping the Seagulls at bay by a solitary point and now visiting supporters will be hoping to leave the Amex Stadium on Saturday with a similar sense of optimism.

Two-one was the score again when the sides met most recently back in March, a victory in which Fabian Schär put himself on the scoresheet, just as he did in stunning fashion last weekend as Newcastle opened their account for the new Premier League season with a victory over newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

That win means Newcastle have already been trimmed slightly into 9/4 from 5/2 for a top six finish this season, while Callum Wilson is 33/1 from 40/1 to finish the campaign as top league goalscorer having also broken his duck for the season against Forest.

Wilson leads first goalscorer betting with BoyleSports for the trip to Brighton at 6/1, Schär is a 9/1 shot to find the net again at anytime, while another 2-1 victory over the Seagulls has been chalked up at 10/1.

United's partners BoyleSports are also offering an exclusive price boost for the Toon Army this week, which means supporters can snap up enhanced odds of 9/2 about Newcastle making it six points from six with a victory and at least three goals being scored in the match.

Newcastle to win & over 2.5 goals - was 4/1, now 9/2!
