Magpies to face Blyth AFC in Senior Cup
Written by Tom Easterby
Newcastle United Under-23s will face Blyth AFC at home in the quarter-finals of the Techflow Marine Northumberland Senior Cup.
Peter Beardsley’s youngsters enter the competition – who last won the trophy in 2014, defeating Blyth Spartans in the final at St. James’ Park – at the last eight stage, where they will host Spartans’ Northern League Division Two neighbours Blyth AFC.
The Braves booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over Ashington last week, courtesy of a second half strike from David Robinson.
The tie will be played on the week beginning Monday, 4th December. Further details will be announced in due course.
