Magpies' Premier League 2 fixtures confirmed

Written by Tom Easterby

Newcastle United Under-23s' fixtures for the 2017/18 Premier League 2 campaign have been announced.

Peter Beardsley and Ben Dawson's side will again compete in Division Two of the competition - after agonisingly missing out of promotion through the play-offs last season - alongside fellow under-23 teams from the likes of Southampton, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough.

The Magpies, who will also compete in the Checkatrade Trophy and the Premier League Cup this season, face three away trips to kick-off their league season in August, before welcoming Norwich City to Tyneside for their first home game on Monday, 11th September.

That clash with the Canaries is one of three matches scheduled to be played at St. James' Park, with the visits of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, 25th September and Aston Villa on Monday, 5th March also set to be played at St. James'.

All of United's other home fixtures will be played at Whitley Park, adjacent to the club's Benton training base.

Among the stadiums the young Magpies will visit this term are The Hawthorns, St. Mary's and Carrow Road.

All fixtures are subject to change. A full fixture list can be found below.
