Magpies formally welcomed back into the Premier League

Written by Dan King

Newcastle United will officially be named as a top flight club once more at the annual general meeting of the Premier League on Thursday.

The Magpies will be formally welcomed back into the league at the AGM and, along with Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town, given a framed share certificate - the document which grants Premier League status.

Relegated Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hull City will hand back their share certificates at the meeting. The board of directors will confirm the cancellation of those shares before issuing them to the three newly-promoted sides.

The Premier League website, www.premierleague.com, now features United's crest while the league table has been updated to include the Magpies.

And on social media, the club's Twitter account - @NUFC - is now followed by the Premier League - @premierleague.

Next season's Premier League fixtures will be announced on nufc.co.uk on Wednesday, 14th June at 9am.

You can renew your season ticket ahead of United's return to the Premier League here.
