Magpies face Chelsea trip in Carabao Cup quarter-finals

Goals from Miguel Almirón, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock saw Eddie Howe's side - who saw off Premier League champions Manchester City in the third round - ease into the last eight with a brilliant 3-0 win at Manchester United in Wednesday night's round four clash.

And their reward is a trip to Stamford Bridge to play Mauricio Pochettino's men in the capital before Christmas.

It will be the sixth time the Magpies have faced the Blues in the competition, with Chelsea prevailing in four of those - but United earned a victory in the most recent meeting between the sides, winning 4-3 away from home in a third round clash in the 2010/11 campaign.

Quarter-final ties will be played during the week beginning Monday, 18th December. 

A confirmed date and kick-off time will be announced in due course.
