Magpies await Carabao Cup draw

Newcastle United will find out their opponents for the Second Round of this season’s Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.
The 13 Premier League clubs not involved in European competition, as well as Cardiff City and Fulham, will join the 35 First Round winners in the hat.
Hosted by Laura Woods, the draw will take place following Salford City’s tie against Leeds United at Moor Lane, live on Sky Sports.
The draw is unseeded but will be regionalised into North and South sections.
The Magpies have played Nottingham Forest at the Second Round stage in each of the last two seasons. They were beaten 3-2 at St. James’ Park – after extra time – by the Championship side in 2017, before losing 3-1 at the City Ground a year ago.
This time around, Forest must first overcome Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town to make sure of their place in the Second Round.
