Loan watch: Magpies youngsters pick up maximum points

Written by Dan King

Two Newcastle United youngsters were in action for their loan clubs at the weekend - and both helped their sides to pick up three points.

After a slow start to the season, Morecambe's form has improved in League Two and they claimed their latest victory at Carlisle on Saturday, with Josef Yarney playing the full game.

The centre-back, who was involved with Rafa BenĂtez's first team in pre-season, has made 14 starts for the Shrimps in all competitions this term.

Meanwhile Accrington Stanley continue to impress in League One, with their 3-1 win at Bradford City taking them up to sixth.

Daniel Barlaser played for the first 82 minutes while Luke Charman was an unused substitute for Stanley.
