Loan watch: Arma assists

Written by Dan King

Adam Armstrong set up a goal for Barnsley as they beat Leeds United on Saturday.

The teenager stood up a great cross for Tom Bradshaw to head home and level the scores at 1-1. The Tykes went on to win 3-2, with Armstrong coming off in stoppage time having picked up a yellow card.

Also laying on a goal at the weekend was Siem de Jong, who came off the bench in the 77th minute to help PSV Eindhoven beat Heerenveen 4-3 on Sunday.

In League One, Macaulay Gillesphey played the whole game as Carlisle drew 1-1 at Accrington Stanley while Freddie Woodman, Sean Longstaff and Callum Roberts all started as Kilmarnock took on Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Cup.

Roberts was substituted in the 64th minute as the Accies scored a last minute penalty to knock Lee Clark's side out of the competition.

In France, Florian Thauvin played for 89 minutes as Marseille lost 3-1 to Lyon while in Spain, Emmanuel Riviere appeared as a 71st-minute substitute for Osasuna, picking up a yellow card as Osasuna lost 4-3 to Sevilla.

Back in the UK, Alex Gilliead was an unused substitute for Bradford as they drew 1-1 against Millwall.

And Paul Woolston was in goal for Blyth Spartans as they strengthened their grip on top spot in the Evo-Stik Premier Division with a 7-1 win against Mickleover Sports.
