Lewis Miley selected for England Under-17s

Teenage attacking midfielder Lewis Miley has received an international call-up with England Under-17s ahead of the Young Lions' 2022 Nordic Football Championships campaign in Norway this month.

Miley, younger brother of under-21s midfielder Jamie, met up with the teenage squad on Tuesday and could make his debut on Saturday, 6th August when England's youngsters take on Norway at the Sarpsborg Stadion (kick-off 5pm).

England's under-17s, managed by former Chesterfield and Mansfield Town midfielder Tom Curtis, will then face the Faroe Islands in Rade on Monday, 8th August (kick-off 2pm) before travelling to Fredrikstad to play against Finland on Wednesday, 10th August (kick-off 12pm).

Miley, one of nine Newcastle teenagers to sign full-time scholarships in July, was involved in a first-team matchday squad for the first time last week as the 16-year-old was named on the bench for the Magpies' pre-season friendlies against Atalanta and Athletic Club at St. James' Park.
