Leeds visit selected for live coverage

Written by Tom Easterby

Newcastle United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Leeds United in April will be televised live on Sky Sports, it has been announced.

Rafa Benitez’s side welcome Garry Monk’s play-off hopefuls to St. James’ Park on Friday, 14th April for a 7.45pm kick-off.

The fixture had originally been scheduled to take place a day later, on Saturday, 15th April at 3pm, but it has now been moved forward after being selected for television coverage.

And the game has been confirmed as the second of a live double-header that day, as it will be shown on Sky Sports after fellow promotion chasers Brighton & Hove Albion’s trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier that evening.

The reverse fixture at Elland Road, which United won 2-0 thanks to a Dwight Gayle brace, was also shown live.

It will be the Magpies’ second successive televised fixture in April, after their trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, 8th April (5.30pm) was also selected for live coverage on Sky Sports.
