Lascelles on the cover for Liverpool clash

Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles is the cover star of Saturday’s official matchday programme as the Magpies face Liverpool at St. James’ Park (7.45pm kick-off).

Rafa Benítez’s side entertain his old club in what is Newcastle’s final home game of the season, and centre half Lascelles is the player in focus in this campaign’s last issue of UNITED.

In an in-depth, eight-page interview, the 25-year-old gives his views on the last nine months and his team’s recovery, after a tricky start to 2018/19 left them winless until November.

Lascelles also discusses his own form during the season, as well as the sizeable challenge facing United this weekend as Jürgen Klopp’s men arrive on Tyneside with a first Premier League title in their sights.

As well as that extensive feature with Lascelles – who also adorns the cover – there is an interview with 80s icon Jason Donovan, who was at St. James’ to watch the victory over Southampton last month.

Matt Ritchie is the final player to tackle some random questions courtesy of popular feature Toon Tombola, while Lascelles, manager Benítez and Sky Sports presenter Pete Graves pen their final columns of the campaign.

Youngster Elliot Anderson is profiled in High Hopes, and there is also plenty of historical content to enjoy as the 50th anniversary of the Magpies’ Fairs Cup triumph approaches.

UNITED is priced at £3 and will be available around the ground or here.
