International round-up: Another assist for Bruno

Written by Dan King

Bruno Guimarães claimed another assist for Brazil as they defeated South Korea 5-1 in an international friendly on Thursday.

The Newcastle United midfielder came off the bench in the 81st minute in Seoul, with the Seleção winning 4-1, and in stoppage time he played a wonderful diagonal ball to Gabriel Jesus, who finished expertly.

Guimarães has now set up goals in his last four international appearances, as well as scoring his first goal for Brazil against Bolivia at the end of March. The 24-year-old was recently named the club's FUN88 Player of the Month for the second month in a row for his Premier League performances in May.

Elsewhere, Miguel Almirón captained Paraguay for the first time on Thursday - but La Albirroja were beaten 4-1 by Japan. The Magpies man played the whole game in Sapporo.
