The Magpies pair were included in Gareth Southgate's squad for their UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying clash with Ukraine in Poland, but were both unused substitutes during the 1-1 draw.

Trippier started at left back for England, turning in a solid display in his 90-minute outing, with frontman Wilson introduced off the bench for the final six minutes of the friendly win in Glasgow.

Frontman Isak is part of the Sweden squad for their two EURO 2024 qualifiers, with the Magpies man moving into double figures for his country as he netted his tenth goal for the Blågult with a neat header in their 5-0 win over Estonia. He was replaced by Victor Claesson after 64 minutes.

Teenage winger Yankuba, who is on loan at Dutch side Feyenoord, enjoyed a memorable senior debut for Gambia on Sunday as he netted in their draw with Congo to book their place at next year's Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Replacing Ebrahima Colley at half time with his side 2-0 down, Minteh got Gambia back into it with 11 minutes left before Mohamed Badamosi's last-gasp header book their place at January's tournament.

After an assured start to his Newcastle United career, Tonali made his first start for Italy as they laboured to a 1-1 draw in Skopje. He played 89 minutes, picking up a booking in the process, before being replaced by Giacomo Raspadori.

Tonali missed out on an early return to San Siro, his former home as an AC Milan player - but will hope to feature there for the Magpies when they head to Italy for their Champions League opener on Tuesday night.

It was a painful night for goalkeeper Dúbravka, who was beaten by Bruno Fernandes' strike and took a hefty knock after a challenge from Cristiano Ronaldo in his side's eventual home defeat.

Teenage midfielder Miley - a regular in Eddie Howe's first team line-ups during pre-season - was named in the England Under-19 squad for their two friendly games against Germany and Switzerland
He came off the bench with quarter of an hour remaining of their defeat to Germany in Spain, but couldn't help his side find a leveller.

They will face both Belgium and the Czech Republic in Hasselt, with McArthur wearing the captain's armband and Emerson an unused substitute during a 3-0 defeat to the former on Wednesday.

Defender Murphy, who featured for United's first team during the pre-season Premier League Summer Series in America, received his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Türkiye and San Marino in Cork, but was forced to pull out with injury.

Anderson received his first senior international call-up after being named in the Scotland squad for their upcoming fixtures against Cyprus and England, but was forced to withdraw due to injury.
