Gilliead extends Bradford loan spell
Written by Rory Mitchinson
Midfielder Alex Gilliead has extended his loan spell at League One side Bradford City until the end of the season.
The England Under-20 international first linked up with the Bantams a year ago, making ten appearances as Stuart McCall’s side just missed out on promotion to the Championship.
He returned to West Yorkshire in July, and lined up against his parent club as the Magpies won 4-0 at Valley Parade in a pre-season friendly.
Since then, he has found the net twice in 29 outings with the Bantams chasing a promotion place once more.
The 21-year-old – who recently made the 100th senior appearance of his career – has previously spent time on loan with Carlisle United and Newcastle’s upcoming FA Cup opponents, Luton Town.
