Gibson Gets England Off To Winning Start

Academy defender Lewis Gibson helped England Under-17s get their European Championships qualifying campaign off to a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Azerbaijan on Tuesday evening.
First-half goals from Manchester United's Angel Gomes and Manchester City's Jadon Sancho proved enough to seal the win for Steve Cooper's side, with Gibson playing the full match in Buftea.
The Young Lions will face host nation Romania on Thursday and Austria on Sunday in their remaining fixtures, knowing that progress from the first qualifying round will secure a spot in next year's Elite qualifying round.
Meanwhile young forward Owen Gallacher was an unused substitute for Scotland under-19s as they won 1-0 in a European Championships qualifier against Liechtenstein, also on Tuesday.
