Exclusive Wilson interview inside Manchester United programme

Leading goalscorer Callum Wilson takes centre stage for Monday night’s edition of UNITED – the Magpies’ official matchday programme.

Over the course of an exclusive, eight-page interview, the frontman chats in-depth about his reunion with Eddie Howe, his England ambitions and his new football podcast.

Ex-forward Darren Jackson is the latest former Magpie to take part in Q&A Revisited, in which we bring back to light some of the quick-fire interviews undertaken by United players over the years and then see how many of their answers remain the same in the present day.

Attacker Miguel Almirón discusses Queen Elizabeth II, houseplants and perserverance in The Toon Tombola, while Toonament History – the brand new feature in which we take a look back at Newcastle’s connections to football’s two biggest major tournaments – continues with a look at Euro 2016 in France.

This week’s Guest Column, meanwhile, comes courtesy of Jackie Lye, who’s currently playing Joy Horville in the BBC’s long-running radio drama The Archers.

Club Historian Paul Joannou looks back at St. James’ Park’s huge attendance figures during the 1940s, and sets the record straight on a common misconception about popular former frontman Wyn Davies.

Further nostalgia comes courtesy of Stan Gate in Programme Matters, with Dan Langley providing this week’s Academy Diary. Elsewhere, we find out a little bit more about Newcastle United Women’s Georgia Gibson.

And, as always, we’ll have all you need to know about our visitors, Manchester United, as well as skipper Jamaal Lascelles’ thoughts ahead of the game and Eddie Howe’s latest set of notes.

If you’re not able to make it on Monday, you can still order your programme online – available on Curtis Sport’s website here.
