"Everyone is over the moon", says Wilson after Derby Day delight

Goalscorer Adam Wilson was delighted to come out on top against local rivals Sunderland as Newcastle United Under-23s claimed a 2-1 victory at the Stadium of Light on Monday evening.
The young Magpies fell behind in the latter stages of the first-half following Tyrese Dyce's opener before two goals in seven second-half minutes turned the Premier League 2 clash in United's favour.
Jay Turner-Cooke, who joined the Magpies' youth set-up from Sunderland in January, levelled against his former club after Joe White's strike deflected off the 17-year-old before Wilson's drilled effort, following White's accurate pass, secured maximum points on Wearside.
"Everyone is buzzing!" the 21-year-old forward told nufc.co.uk. "We came here to get the win and that's exactly what we've done. We needed that result as it's sort of bragging rights in the North east (to beat Sunderland) and everyone is over the moon.
"We had a talk at half-time, trying to put a few things right and looking at certain things we weren't doing (in the first-half). We definitely played better in the second-half and managed to get the win, holding on towards the end.
"We planned to come out in the second-half and put pressure on them. When we got the first goal, it gave us momentum and we were confident we could get a second too.
"It feels great to score against Sunderland in the derby. It was a great ball by Joe (White) and I managed to put it away.
"We've been working on making sure to defend crosses, winning second balls and I think we showed that tonight too. The lads at the back were unbelievable."
Newcastle's second-string climb in fourth place of Premier League 2's second tier after prevailing against their Black Cats counterparts and Wilson, who has represented England at under-18 level, was thankful for the support of the travelling away supporters.
After securing a third successive win in all competitions, as well as back-to-back league victories, the youngster is determined for the group to continue their bright form ahead of two league fixtures later this month.
"It was great support from the fans," the Ashington-born winger added. "I could hear them during the entire game, chanting my name a couple of times.
"It gives you a lot of confidence, making sure you keep running and working that extra bit harder. It means a lot in a derby game.
"Confidence in the squad is very high at the moment. Hopefully, we can get two more wins next week (against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City) and keep playing good football, showing we can do it."
