Details revealed for 'Bobby film' premiere

Details have been revealed for the world premiere of a film about Sir Bobby Robson, which will take place at St. James’ Park.

Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager – the definitive film about Sir Bobby’s incredible life and career – will officially launch with a screening at the home of Newcastle United on 22nd May, before further screenings at Wembley and Portman Road.

The three stadium events will be an opportunity for supporters to see the highly-anticipated film on the big screen in the company of Sir Bobby’s family and friends.

Each pitchside screening will feature a Q&A session with the film’s directors, Gabriel Clarke and Torquil Jones, as well as former players who knew Sir Bobby well.

Steve Harper, George Caulkin and Lady Elsie Robson at St. James' Park

Two Sir Bobby Robson Foundation patrons - former Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper and football writer George Caulkin - will take part in the Q&A at St. James' Park, while other guests will include Sir Bobby's widow Lady Elsie Robson, Sir Bobby's son Mark Robson, former players, family and friends.

"We’re very grateful to Newcastle United, Ipswich Town and the FA for their wonderful support of More Than A Manager," said Mark.

"I can’t think of anywhere more appropriate for ‘Dad’s film’ to be shown than at St. James’ Park, Portman Road and Wembley.

"The team behind the film have shown us their absolute commitment to this project and their love of football. And they’ve included us, both as a family and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, from day one."

About the film

The film also covers Sir Bobby’s fight with cancer and the formation and ongoing success of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and a percentage of the film’s profits will be donated to the charity.
