Date set for Crewe Checkatrade Trophy clash

Newcastle United's Checkatrade Trophy game against Crewe Alexandra has been confirmed for Tuesday, 29th August.
Peter Beardsley and Ben Dawson will head to the Alexandra Stadium - otherwise known as Gresty Road - with a Magpies under-21 side for the midweek clash with David Artell's League Two outfit, which has been set for a 7.30pm kick-off.
A young United team will also face another League Two club, Port Vale, in the competition, while League One side Oldham Athletic complete Group D in the Northern section of the draw, which was made on Wednesday.
Ticket details for Magpies fans, as well as further information on Newcastle's other Checkatrade Trophy ties, will be announced in due course.
