Date confirmed for Rovers FA Cup clash

Newcastle United’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round game at home to Blackburn Rovers will take place on Saturday, 5th January.

Tickets for the tie – which kicks off at 3pm – are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Those prices will rise to £20 and £10 respectively on the day of the game.

Rovers last visited St. James’ Park during the Magpies’ title-winning Championship campaign, when – surprisingly – they won 1-0 thanks to Charlie Mulgrew’s second-half strike.

The two clubs have met 11 times in the FA Cup – including replays – with United winning six and losing just twice.

Their last meeting in the competition came during the 2011/12 campaign – also at the Third Round stage – with the Magpies running out 2-1 winners at St. James’ Park.
