Daryl Murphy joins Forest
Written by Rory Mitchinson
Forward Daryl Murphy has joined Sky Bet Championship side Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee.
The Irishman linked up with United a year ago, and found the net six times in 18 appearances.
All of Murphy’s goals for the Magpies came within a three-month spell between January and April, and included a crucial late winner at Brentford and an effort against his previous club, Ipswich Town.
The 34-year-old also notched his first international strike during his time at St. James’ Park, scoring for the Republic of Ireland against Serbia in September.
Everyone at Newcastle United would like to wish Daryl well for the future.
