Daisy Burt joins Middlesbrough Women on loan

Newcastle United Women defender Daisy Burt has joined FA Women’s National League Division One North side Middlesbrough Women on loan until the end of the season.

Middlesbrough are currently top of the Division One North table, so Burt's experience of fighting for promotion will be key for the remainder of the season.

Burt played a pivotal role in helping United secure promotion out of Division One North last season, starting all 22 matches.

The young full-back has been with the Magpies since leaving rivals Sunderland Women ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Becky Langley is keen for Burt to gain more first team experience, while also remaining on Newcastle's full time training model.

"Daisy is doing really well in sessions with the team," Langley said. "She is a young player with lots of potential.

"Whilst on our full-time training model we feel it's important for her to go out on loan and play senior football.

"It's a good challenge for Daisy at Middlesbrough, who are pushing for promotion."
