Clark is new Bury boss

Written by Dan King

Former Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark has been appointed as Bury's new first team manager.

Clark was in charge of Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock, but a compensation package was agreed which has seen him head to Gigg Lane.

Bury are currently 21st in League One - a division Clark knows well from his time in charge of Huddersfield and Blackpool.

The Wallsend-born ex-England under-21 international has also managed Birmingham City.

He progressed through the ranks at St. James' Park and played for his boyhood club between 1990 and 1997, making more than 200 appearances. He returned for a second spell in 2005.
