Burn wins FUN88 Player of the Month award
Dan Burn is the FUN88 Player of the Month for March.
The Ashington-born, Blyth-raised defender joined his boyhood club from Brighton & Hove Albion in January and won man of the match on his debut against Aston Villa the following month.
In March, he played in all four of United's games as the Magpies beat Brighton and Southampton and lost at Chelsea and Everton, and his excellent performances saw him gain 53 per cent of the supporters' vote.
Bruno Guimarães was the runner-up with 25 per cent of the vote, with Fabian Schär and Matt Targett also nominated for the monthly prize.
Burn said: "It's very special to win the award - and I have to thank my family for voting loads of times!
"It's been an amazing couple of months since I've been here, it could barely have gone better, and I'm glad that people have thought I've been playing well. Hopefully I can carry that on towards the end of the season and keep the momentum going.
"Nothing's done yet, so we'll try to get safe as soon as possible. We've got some tough games coming up and we just need to keep on picking up results."
