Broadcast selections confirmed for December and January

Written by Rory Mitchinson

Broadcast selections for December and January – a number of which involve Newcastle United – have been confirmed by the Premier League.

If you subscribe to our free calendar service, you should already have the new dates on your device.

The Magpies' trip to Sheffield United on Tuesday, 3rd December will now be played two days later, on Thursday, 5th December, with kick-off at the earlier time of 7.30pm. As with every Premier League fixture played during that midweek, it will be shown live on Amazon.

As a result of that change, Newcastle's home game against Southampton on Saturday, 7th December will now be played on Sunday, 8th December at 2pm. Please note that the game is not being shown live by any broadcaster; it has only moved as a result of the Sheffield United fixture switch.

The rights to screen the Magpies' Boxing Day clash at Manchester United had already been secured by Amazon and that game will now kick off at the slightly later time of 5.30pm.

United start 2020 by welcoming Leicester City to St. James' Park on New Year’s Day. The game will still be played at 3pm, but has been chosen for broadcast by BT.

Steve Bruce’s side's meeting with Chelsea on Tyneside on Saturday, 18th January – the reverse of the fixture being played this weekend – will now kick off at 5.30pm after being picked up by Sky.

Finally, though the Magpies' trip to Everton three days later – on Tuesday, 21st January – has not been chosen for broadcast, kick-off has been brought forward from 7.45pm to 7.30pm.
