Blackburn U18s 1 Newcastle U18s 2

Goals from Thomas Allen and Elias Sorensen gave Newcastle a 2-1 Under-18 Premier League Cup victory at Blackburn on Saturday.

Dave Watson's young Magpies are yet to win in the league this term, and had been beaten 3-2 by Brighton in their opening game of the competition.

But Saturday's victory took them into second place in the group, and kept their hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals alive.

Their third and final group game is at current leaders Chelsea on Saturday, 2nd December. 

Danish teenager Sorensen now has five goals in nine appearances this term, while Allan has four goals from ten starts. 

Newcastle United Under-18s: Otto Huuhtanen, Max Allen, Oliver Walters (Kurtis Russell 60), Mace Goodridge, Oisin McEntee, Isaac Gamblin, Adam Wilson, Kelland Watts, Elias Sorensen, Thomas Allan, Kieren Aplin (Sam Joyce 80)
