The victory put a massive dent in Arsenal's now feint title hopes and means Brighton now have three wins and two defeats in their last five matches. The Seagulls are sixth with four games remaining and they could still make a late surge for a sensational fourth-place finish; that may still be unlikely, but a win would certainly put them in the driving seat for a Europa League place next season.
