Benítez opens university's new multi-use games area

Benítez cut the ribbon after meeting with university officials and students at the facility, which will play host to a range of sports, including football, cricket and golf.

Benítez said: "It was a privilege to visit Durham University on Tuesday and be there for the opening of this fantastic new sports facility.

"From speaking to some of the students, sports coaches and representatives of the university, it is clear that a huge number of people in our region will benefit from having access to such a top-class facility.

"Sport plays a big part in the community and the people here at Durham University are very fortunate they are able to enjoy their different sports at such a brilliant location for many years to come."
