Barlaser extends Accrington loan spell

Written by Tom Easterby

Newcastle United midfielder Dan Barlaser will remain on loan at Accrington Stanley until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who initially joined the League One side on a half-season loan deal in August 2018, will now stay at the Wham Stadium until the end of the current campaign.

Barlaser has established himself in the Accy team since his arrival, making 23 appearances in all competitions and scoring twice, against Macclesfield Town in the Checkatrade Trophy and Colchester United in the FA Cup.

John Coleman’s men are currently 12th in the third tier, with the Magpies youngster having featured in all but one of their league fixtures since his arrival.

Before joining Stanley, Barlaser – who has made two senior appearances for United – spent time on loan at Crewe Alexandra last term.
