Baggies clash awaits young Magpies

Written by Tom Easterby

Newcastle United Under-23s are back in Premier League 2 Division Two action on Monday night as they face West Bromwich Albion (7pm kick-off).

Peter Beardsley's side travel to Kidderminster Harriers' Aggborough Stadium to take on the Baggies, who haven't won any of their previous five league games.

The Magpies, meanwhile, are looking to get back to winning ways after their 0-0 draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers last week and the 3-1 defeat at Swansea City prior to that, in which Tom Heardman grabbed United's goal.

But the visitors will be boosted by the return of winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, who is back in the squad after missing Beardsley's side's last two games due to his involvement with the first team.

Midfielder Dan Barlaser - another player to have featured for the first team in recent weeks - could also return to the fold, while Slovenian forward Haris Vuckic, who returned from a loan spell with League One side Bradford City last month, may feature.

And Spanish youngster Victor Fernandez is included in the squad for the first time, after receiving international clearance.

Tickets for the clash at Aggborough are available at the turnstiles, and are priced at £5 for adults and £1 for concessions.
