Allison to referee Cottagers clash

Sam Allison will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League trip to Fulham on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3pm BST).

Saturday 6th April
Fulham vs Newcastle United
Craven Cottage
Kick-off 15:00 BST

Eddie Howe's side travel to the capital targeting a third win against Marco Silva's side this term after victories in the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup and this will be the first time Allison has officiated a fixture involving the Magpies.

In December 2023, the 43-year-old whistler became the first black referee to take charge of a Premier League game for 15 years, the first since Uriah Rennie in 2008, during Luton Town's 3-2 away win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The former firefighter, who represented England and Great Britain at schoolboy level as a player, oversaw a mere eight Championship matches before being handed his English top-flight bow as a referee this term but has officiated over a century of EFL contests since his debut in September 2020.
