Academy players complete deadline day moves

Newcastle United youngsters Michael Ndiweni and Josh Scott have both completed deadline day moves to Scottish clubs Annan Athletic and Queen's Park respectively.

Ndiweni, who made his first-team debut against Chelsea earlier this season, heads to Scottish League One side Annan on loan for the remainder of the campaign, subject to the necessary approvals, while Scott has joined Scottish Championship outfit Queen's Park on a permanent basis after ten years with United's Academy.

Academy Director Steve Harper said: "The loan to Annan gives Michael a platform to get regular senior game time and we wish him well for his spell there, while the move to Queen's Park comes at the right time for Josh who has been at the Academy for the entirety of his footballing journey.

"It's an excellent opportunity and we thank Josh for his significant contribution during his time here."

Elsewhere, midfielder Jay Turner-Cooke has returned from his loan spell with St Johnstone. The 20-year-old made six appearances for the Scottish Premiership club following his summer switch.
