Aarons takes part in ePremier League Invitational

Rolando Aarons will represent Newcastle United in the second ePremier League Invitational tournament which takes place on the EA Sports FIFA 20 video game this week.

Aarons is in Round 1 action on Tuesday 5th May (5pm BST) and will play against England cricketer Jofra Archer, who will be representing Manchester United, the club he supports.

The tie will also have special significance for supporters in the Caribbean, with Aarons hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, and Archer born in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Aarons will be hoping to replicate the form which has previously seen him achieving success on the EA Sports FIFA 20 platform.

The winger represented the Magpies at a Premier League exhibition event while on pre-season in Shanghai in the summer 2019 and he went on to win the competition.

The inaugural ePremier League Invitational tournament took place last month and was won by Wolves’ Diogo Jota.

Newcastle United were represented by Christian Atsu, who beat Moussa Sissoko’s Spurs in the Round of 16 before falling to defeat against Trent Alexander-Arnold at the quarter-final stage.

All matches will be streamed live on the Sky Sports YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as BBC Sport website and iPlayer.
