Wigan win in pictures
Newcastle took another step towards the Premier League with a narrow victory against Wigan on Saturday.
Graham Barrow's Latics made life difficult for the Magpies and it took until the 36th minute before Dwight Gayle broke the deadlock with a close range finish from Mohamed Diame's right-wing cross.
Then at the beginning of the second half, Michael Jacobs ghosted past Jamaal Lascelles and finished beyond Karl Darlow to level.
But seven minutes later, Matt Ritchie headed home what proved to be the winner, and with Huddersfield slipping to a late loss against Burton, the Magpies are now ten points clear of third place.
