Newcastle United booked their place in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals with a 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion in the fifth round on Tuesday night.
Miguel Almirón’s brace set Steve Bruce’s side on their way at the Hawthorns, before Valentino Lazaro’s first goal for the club since his January loan move from Inter Milan made it 3-0 to the visitors.
The Championship club pulled a couple of goals back through Matt Phillips and Kenneth Zohore, but United held off the Baggies’ challenge to make sure of their place in the last eight for the first time in 14 years.
