Steve Bruce's men got their first win of the season thanks to Joelinton's first goal for the club at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
On a day of firsts, it was the Magpies' debut visit to Spurs' magnificent new stadium, and United were backed by 3,000 travelling supporters.
They went wild as Joelinton struck in the 27th minute, after an excellent team move, and then inspired the players as they defended their lead superbly - and survived a late VAR penalty decision after Harry Kane was sent tumbling by the already-falling Jamaal Lascelles.
