Toon in training: Warming up for Wolves

Earlier this week, six players returned to full training ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Andy Carroll, Miguel Almirón, Ciaran Clark, Dwight Gayle, Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems are now firmly in contention to be part of Steve Bruce's squad for the game at Molineux.

Allan Saint-Maximin has also been stepping up his own recovery from injury over the last few days, and joined in with some of Thursday morning's session at the Magpies' Benton base.

Matt Ritchie has trained all week after making his first appearance in four months in last weekend's FA Cup tie at Rochdale, while skipper Jamaal Lascelles is likely to resume full training on Friday.

Youngsters Ludwig Francillette, Tom Allan and Lewis Cass continue to train with the first team and, on a cold and rainy morning, Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
