Toon in training: United gear up for Villa clash

Newcastle United will be out to keep their current momentum going when they take on Aston Villa at St. James' Park on Saturday.

Last weekend's win at Tottenham Hotspur saw the Magpies climb to fourth in the Premier League, having won four of their last five matches, while they've lost just once in all competitions so far this season.

And their recent results are all the more impressive given that they've been achieved without key men Allan Saint-Maximin and Alexander Isak, although Jonjo Shelvey made his first start of the season in North London, having recovered from a pre-season injury, and trained on Wednesday.

Also involved in the session was youngster Joe White, who scored a superb free-kick in the under-21s' win against Southampton on Sunday, and teenage goalkeeper Jude Smith.

The Magpies trained with the new Hi-Vis Premier League ball, which will debut in the top flight this weekend, and club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
