Toon in training: United buzzing for Bees test

With Saturday's visit of Brentford fast approaching, Newcastle United's first team players continued their preparations for the return of Premier League football on Wednesday morning.

The two-week break from domestic action has seen players such as Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak star for their countries, with forward Isak among the goals for Sweden during the last week of international fixtures.

The absence of that trio, along with the likes of Brazilian pair Joelinton and Bruno Guimarães, means head coach Eddie Howe has had a smaller squad to work with in recent days but that hasn't stopped United from putting in plenty of preparatory work as the clash with the unbeaten Bees this weekend draws closer (5:30pm kick-off).

Club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from the Magpies' Benton training centre.
