Toon in training: Set for Spurs on Sunday

Jamaal Lascelles, Callum Wilson and Jonjo Shelvey are back in contention for Sunday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur at St. James' Park, where Newcastle United will be aiming to get a new era off to a winning start and pick up their first victory of the season.

Captain Lascelles suffered a thigh injury against Leeds last month while Wilson came off with a similar problem after scoring against Southampton at the end of August, but both have trained for the last few days while Shelvey made his comeback from a calf complaint for the under-23s on Monday night, playing for 79 minutes at Whitley Park.

Joe Willock is also fit after he was forced off with a hip injury against Watford in United's last game two weeks ago, but Martin Dúbravka and Paul Dummett won't be involved against Nuno Espírito Santo's side while Steve Bruce has admitted that Miguel Almirón is unlikely to play having started three games for Paraguay over the last few days - most recently a defeat in Bolivia on Thursday night, which will see him arrive back in the UK on Saturday.

However the likes of Jeff Hendrick, Fabian Schär, Emil Krafth, Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis have returned unscathed from representing their respective countries. Club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from the Magpies' Benton base.
