Toon in training: Newcastle United Women return for pre-season training ahead of 2023/24 campaign

After a memorable climax to the 2022/23 season which resulted in promotion, Newcastle United Women returned for pre-season training on Sunday ahead of what promises to be another momentous campaign.

The team will become a full-time professional outfit, a year on from the club becoming an official part of Newcastle United Football Club, with the players given the opportunity to fully focus on training and matches as they look to achieve their ultimate aim of reaching the Women's Super League.

Stars of last term's title-winning team, including Charlotte Potts, Kacie Elson, Georgia Gibson and Katie Barker, reported back for training this weekend, under the watchful eye of head coach Becky Langley.

And some exciting new faces are also expected to join the club soon as the Magpies look to make their mark in the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division.

Club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from the Magpies' Little Benton Academy.
