Toon in training: New boys train as United prepare for Toffees

New additions Bruno Guimarães, Matt Targett and Dan Burn were all involved as Newcastle United trained at St. James' Park on Friday, ahead of taking on Everton there next week.

Targett and Burn had already trained with their new team-mates on a couple of occasions following their deadline day moves to the Magpies, but this was Brazil midfielder Guimarães' first session as a Newcastle player and came less than an hour after he arrived in England following his return from international duty.

Miguel Almirón and Chris Wood have also returned unscathed from representing their countries, while Matty Longstaff took part in the session despite joining Mansfield Town on loan on Monday. The Stags are without a game this weekend, so allowed Longstaff to train with his parent club before preparations begin in earnest for their home clash with Colchester next week.

Skipper Jamaal Lascelles and in-form Joelinton both trained after coming off against Leeds in United's last Premier League game, and club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
