Toon in training: Magpies prepare for Saturday's trip to Villa Park

Aston Villa are next up for Newcastle United, with the Magpies visiting Villa Park on Saturday (kick-off 8pm GMT).

And after three Premier League defeats in a row, Steve Bruce's side are determined to return to winning ways against the Villans. Ryan Fraser is back in contention after serving a one-match ban against Arsenal, while Dwight Gayle was back in training after illness.

Allan Saint-Maximin, meanwhile, who returned to light training last week after suffering from Covid-19, was able to join in with the group and while the weekend's game is likely to come too soon for the Frenchman, his progress will be seen as a big positive as United have undoubtedly missed him during the last two months.

Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from United's Benton base.
